Yours Truly

Danielle embodies the teacher archetype in many ways.  She has taught yoga to people of all ages for 14 years and leads women’s circles through The WILD Woman Project.  She practices Thai Yoga Massage, writes, edits and co-facilitates teacher trainings and workshops.  She has an M.Ed and currently she is working as a Head Start Coach, supervising and coaching full-time Early Education teachers and is available for limited private sessions and consultations for yoga and workshops.

Yoga Specific Bio

Trained in 2006 at Om Shanti Yoga with Lillian Leon (who radically gifted Danielle her first 200 hour YTT at age 17! How incredibly generous!), Danielle then taught through college and continued her training in 2010 with Jennifer Yarro of Frog Lotus Yoga. Her classes are meant to be functional for all types of practitioners, as they are layered and multi-tiered.  She brings in elements of the yoga sutras, functional anatomy and history.  Arriving to Portland in June 2017, she hit the ground running, excited to serve her new community with compassion, enthusiasm and attentiveness.  She hopes to create an atmosphere where ambition is replaced by curiosity and her teaching style has been described as “intuitively-paced, respectful of all bodies, playful, judgment-free, and exuberant.”  She continues to study the decolonization of yoga and the intersection between modern yoga and social justice.

Danielle has been an educator in both public and private schools and is also a Women’s Circle Leader for The WILD Woman Project (www.thewildwomanproject.com) as well as a facilitator for WILD WOMAN FEST (www.wildwomanfest.com).  As an educator for many years, she loves to combine her yoga experience with her expertise in childhood development for classes and workshops for families and children.  She was inspired to strengthen her hands-on assists and completed Thai Massage Levels 1 and 2 as well as Hands Free Thai with Jennifer, and has assisted the summer Teacher Training program at Frog Lotus Yoga. She is continually honored to be able to serve as a friendly guide in all of these capacities and looks forward to learning from you, too!  Also, if you make it to class, ask for the very ancient pose called hug-asana. You won’t regret it.

  1. Ok you saw me roll my eyes…sorry! But what about all that MONEY for your education and the countless hours of studying! …… And your Dad didn’t pay me to say this!!!😜✌but I love my yoga teacher Stacy. She has a big heart. She lets me bring Rick for free and does adaptive yoga for him and old folks like me. I appreciate how she lets all of us all gravitate to the faith we have, mine being in Jesus Christ. I look forward to see how this journey plays out. May you find true peace and gratification as you follow your heart. Sincerely your Dads cousin Chris Cravatta

    1. Thanks for thinking of me! Luckily, taking a break from education does not erase the education I have received. That knowledge is mine forever, and even luckier, I can do whatever I want with it! And! The best part about yoga is that it is inclusive. You’re right about that. Happy that you’re doing well!
